Sorry for the absence!

It's been a busy few weeks around here! Home improvements, rain boot shopping, and baking have kept me busy! (School work has been thrown in there too, but where's the excitement in THAT?!)

BAKING
This last week, I made a recipe that I have been wanting to try out for a long time now- Carmelitas!  They were so easy (except unwrapping a whole bag of carmels isn't fun- but Chase did that  job for me! hehe) and tasted AMAZING.  The recipe is from the blog Lulu the Baker; here is the link:   Carmelia Recipe

HOME IMPROVEMENTS
As for home improvements, I made a DIY!! YAY! The first thing off my list here.  I got the idea off of Pinterest <--- LOVE.  (Oh, did I mention, for my Drugs class, we have to give something up for 28 days, like coffee, facebook, ect. and something possessed me to give up Pinterest! WHY?!?! I am in withdrawals, can you tell?!)

DURING:
Liddy wanted me to spend all the time throwing her new toy for her.  She was quite upset that I had other plans while I was outside!

Also, Chase and Craig moved a cabinet from our laundry room into our bathroom and put new ones up in the laundry room.  I was able to get my bathroom cabinets all organized and it feels so good to know right where everything is!! Chase put up holder-things on the inside of the cabinet doors to hold my straightener, curling irons, and hair dryer.  He did an amazing job!!!

sorry for the blurry pictures....

RAIN BOOTS
I literally have been shopping for rain boots for a whole year.  I waited until the end of the Spring to finally make up my mind that I would buy some, and by that time, it was 70 degrees and sunny everyday.  So a few weeks ago, when it snowed mass amounts in just a few hours (mass amounts to a Texas girl) I decided I needed some "wellies" again.  I made my selection, sent in my order, and walked around campus in the rain with wet feet for a few days while I waited to get them in the mail.  I just got my special box today, and as I look at the weather, I am a bit sad- it's to be sunny and in the 50's for the next week.  So everyone out there in the Treasure Valley area, you can thank me for the clear skies and warm weather.  I knew the minute I got my rain boots, I wouldn't be needing them.  UGH.

SO! It really has been busy around here.  But I will try to be better at posting from now on.  I am very, very happy that I actually was able to cross some things off my list!
Now what I have to decide.... WHAT'S NEXT?!?! :)

Before I hit the books....

Yes, it is early in the semester to be studying, but I have a quiz that is due Friday in an online class, so I really do have work to do! Ugh!  This semester, I am taking General Chemistry (and a lab), Medical Terminology, Drugs: Use and Abuse, Art History, and Health Delivery Systems!  These next few months will be busy, busy, busy.  (So please forgive me if I don't get too many of my projects around the house finished!)

When I got home today, I had a surprise waiting for me on the counter:

Flowers and a Whoopie-Pie from Starbucks!!! Awwwww! :)

Something about the mountains....

We just got back from a wonderful trip up to New Meadows.  There was a lot of french-press coffee, italian sodas, and card-playing.  We went to Gold Fork Hot Springs, and let me tell you.... The view of the stars up there is something else!
yep, we ALL brought eggs.  It added up to be like 14 dozen!

He's mine :)

Girls in the kitchen... Lindsey looks like she is stabbing the avocado safely.... ;)

I have a weird new obsession.

It's weird, I get it.  My sister has already told me I have gone crazy.  But my new obsession is my new Try-Ply Calphalon pots and pans set.  They are so shiny!  I made Ravioli del Sol last night and boiled water for the first time in my pots.  It was like magic!  I even took a picture for you:

It's the little things in life, right??? Some people have cars, and I have my Calphalon pots and pans.

Did I really forget introductions??

I'm Lana; he's Chase.  We live in the cold Northwest.  I'm originally from Texas, so even though it has been an unusually warm winter, I'm still wearing boots, tights, and sweaters pretty regularly.
We were married November 19th (pretty sure I have mentioned the married part before, hehe) so I thought I would share some pic's from the special day:

The First

The first sentence is always the hardest for me when I write;  Just like taking the first step out the door to head out on a run.  It's over with now, so that makes it easier!  Chase and I have recently started our own "first"; we got married in Texas this past November.  The past few months have gone by so fast, and just recently, it has caused me to stop and think of what I put into my days.  Do I get done what I meant to do?  Have I checked anything off my list?  That's my reasoning for a blog.  I think that if I am updating others on what is going on in our lives, I might, just maybe, make a point to actually finish my projects so I can get them up here to show you guys!!  (Please remind me of this every now and then!! haha)

My goal for the next month is to get TWO of the items done in this list (Yep, very ambitious over here!)

To-Do
1. Bottle decorations for guest bath
2. Kitchen lettering project
3. Re-do the old window pane that has been sitting in the garage since I moved in....
4. Organize the bathroom cabinets
5. Make a ruffled knit skirt
6. Sew a pencil skirt like the one I am drooling over in the Boden spring catalog....

OK! That's a good start!

XOXO
